Tribute Mini-Poster for The Mummy: 25th Anniversary
ABOUT
The Mummy (1999) is a movie that I would watch with my family on an annual cycle. When the 25th anniversary re-release was announced, I thought of how I missed ticket stubs. I created this as the answer to a society that is largely digital and intangible. I handed free prints of this poster out to others who attended the same viewing I went to.
People deserve to have momentos of special memories and media they resonate with. Designing for The Mummy came with the challenge of how to encompass the atmosphere and themes without using Hieroglyphs as an “exotic accessory.”
Instead, I focused on the duality of life and death and the harmony between Rick and Evie despite how diametrically different they are.
